I Know Who I Am – Who Am I Becoming? “Pay Forward” #7

Today’s “Pay Forward” gift is – I Know Who I Am – Who Am I Becoming? I accept the reality that this present moment is the only one I need to deal with. “Give us this day our daily bread.” I don’t want to get stuck in the past pretending it is today, but I do want to learn from it. “The heart of prayer is to recognize the Presence and action of God and consent to it. We do not have to go anywhere; God is already with us” (Father Thomas Keating). Effort has to do with the future; that I am becoming. Consent has to do with the present moment. Faith refers to what we already have; our Father within, doing the works. What we do in silence, our Father’s first language, we will experience in our daily life. “Remain in Me, and I will remain in you” (John 15:4). It’s important what we tell ourselves, not what other people tell us or about us. The art of life is to live in the present in the Presence, realizing we are the channel of our Father, with the purpose He has/is giving each of us to express. A member of Alcoholics Anonymous or one borrowing its spiritual tools has what we need to be and to do our God intended purpose. I choose to start each new beginning, any shift in my attention, by saying “Our Father.” It reminds me Who our Boss is. Thy Love, Thy Will be done.
