How About The Wayward Son? “Pay Forward” #193

Today’s “Pay Forward” gift is - How About The Wayward Son? Sometime I can love the Self You created Father but what about the wayward son I made up? I remember the mercy and unconditional love the father gave his returning son in the Prodigal Son story. There has been times when I acted more like the self-righteous elder brother; jealous and judgmental. I don’t want to be the unloving self-centered, self-righteous brother any more. I really want the unconditional love the Prodigal Son got, totally forgiven. In fact I want to be more like the father. Out of enlightened self-interest I know it is best for me to be warm and loving, kind and understanding, wise and intelligent, merciful and forgiving. That’s my experience with our Father. If I want to keep those unearned gifts I must learn to pass on what I have received, in the image and likeness of my Hero Jesus. “May they all be one, just as, Father, You are in me: and I am in You, so that they also may be in us” John 17:21. By grace let the two extremes become as one. Let the outpouring of Your love Father cause that mystical union I long for, become my Reality. Let our prayers and meditations be bridge builders that keep us connected. I want to think of us as You think of us Father. “Only the truth of who you are, if realized, will set you free” Eckhart Tolle. Thy Love, Thy Will be done.
