The Widow’s Mite “Pay Forward” #51

Today’s “Pay Forward” gift is - The Widow Mite. Her gift was two of the smallest Roman Coins. It was more than what the rich gave; she gave all she had and the rich gave a tiny bit of their abundance. Mother Teresa gave all her life to help the poorest of the poor. She shared a life of love, charity, and compassion. This Modern Saint was in the spirit of the Widow Mite. “Silver and gold I have not, but what I do have I give.” When I came to A.A. I was illiterate; I was unable to learn how to read using phonics. What little I could read was learned by memorizing words. As I share my workbooks and these Pay Forward gifts reveal the fact that I am not a Wordsmith, a skillful writer. I do not have the “silver and gold” of the great givers or writers, I offer what I do have, in the spirit of the Widow’s Mite. By The grace and mercy of our Father each of us, have our individual gifts to share, sometimes as a giver, and other times a receiver, we are all receivers. As the result of living A.As’ spiritual principles we can share, if we choose, our experience, strength and hope, making a good difference. “We cannot all do great things. But we can do small things with great love” Mother Teresa. All over the world those living A.As’ way of life; “yes to that.” Thy Love, Thy Will be done.
